HIGHLAND SCHOOL HAS INTEREStlNG CLOSING PROGRAMNegro School Closes Successful Year; Special Sunday ProgramFollow in* the presentation of a four act operetta by the pupils of the South Highland school onFriday evening Saturday was observed as a day of rest by the teachers and pupils at the flourishing negro institution, the final commencement exercises to bestaged on Tuesday evenlnSunday will be a day of extreme activity and interes. at the South Highlands school, * special commencement exerciso to be heldat 3 o'clock in the afternoon.Features of the Sunday service will be a chorus by the whole, school, the invocation by Rev. J. C. Janies, scripture lesson by Rev. James Brown, prayer by, Rev. C. H Brown. Negro Spiritual So Sad.” by the school and a special sermon by Rev. D. O. Woods, pas-to of the Jackson Temple C. M.E., church The concluding feature of the afternoon will be the rendition of a solo, O Lord. Be Merciful,*’ by Omega King.“Hiawatha Dramatised,” willbe rendered at the Monday evening exercise, the nine scenes being ended with the happy reunion of Minnehaha and Hiawatha In ;be happy hunting grounds.The graduation exercises on ruesday evening will concludethe commencement exercises, awarding of diplomas to bo one of the Intereating features of the final service.The South Highland school has a splendid faculty and a well furnished self obi alopg all lines of modern improvements, and Uai» had an unusually prosperous term under the direction of the ableprincipal.
