May 5, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Heyser celebrated tlit*fiftieth anniversary ol their wedding.The hon.so was profusely adornedwith roses, caruatious, tulips andwild flower* Many beautiful presents were received.He is a descendant of ('apt. William Heyser, who raised a regiment of soldiers in this city during tlie Revolutionary War, and who was contemporary with Hai*er and Funk,the first settlers. He was a physician aud came from the Netherlands.This same William Heyser com menced the building of the German Reformed church (now Zion Reformed) in 1774. He had two sous, Jacob and William The former went to Cbainher6burg; the latter became president of the Hagerstown Bank, which position lie held for a numberof years. He lived on the corner of Jonathan and Antietam*sts., in what is now the Walker property. He had a sou William, who was the father of Captain George Heyser, deceased, and Henrietta H^y-er, (now Snyder,)of this city, and second cousin ot Jacob Heyser.Mr. Heyser at 7 4 is engaged in the active duties of iite. A strange coin* cidence is found iu the tact that iu Scharf's history ot Western Mary*land, the biography of William Heyser follows directly that of Chas. W.Humrichouse, whose golden weddingoccurs today.
