Student Council Announces Appointees for the School YearBemmels, Rohde Head Student PublicationsThe '■X^ttawa University student council has announced appointments of board chairmen, and editors of the student publications for the coming ^ear at their meeting last week.Barry Rohde, junior from Colonia, N.J., has been named as editor for the Campus for next year. Rohde will replace Clausie Smith, who was editor during * the second semester. Dave Hale was first semester editor. .Rohde was assistant editor this semester.Ruth Ann Bemmels, sophomore from Ottawa, has been appointed as Ottawan editor for the coming year. Ruth was the assistant editor last year and will replace John Potter, this year’s editor.Don Eilenstine, junior from Gardner, will replace LaVerne Barnes as Campus Business Manager. Nick Gangwish, Gibbons, Nebr., will take over from Jerrell Wilkens as Ottawan Business Manager.Jim Smith, Mohawk, N.Y., will become Athletic Chairman next year. He will replace Henry Wyeno. Carolyn • Moberly has been named women’s athletic chairman, to replace Pat Thiel.book will be revised and reprinted for next year.. The Council has yet to fill vacancies in the Charter Days Chairmanship and the Campus Chest Drive Chairman. The Publicity Board Chairman will be appointed as soon as the duties of the committee are clearly defined. JThe freshman initiation committee for next year will be headed by Bill Stoddart. Other members will be Carolyn Moberly and Arlene McCoy. The presidents of next year’s fresh-mari and sophomore classes will also -be members.The Student Council has been pleased with the fine number of suggestions and interest that has been displayed by students.■mi,Juniors, Frosh Hold PicnicsThe freshman and junior classes will enjoy class picnics May 9.At 9:30 on Friday, May 9, the junior class will leave for Lone*’ Star Lake, near Lawrence, for its annual picnic.
