Schurr of Acme were honored with an open house reception on Saturday at their home, the occasion being their golden wedding anniversary.Hosting the festivity were their two children, Harry A. Schurr of Murrysville and Mrs. Harold (MaryBelle) LaBuff of Monroeville.A number of out-of-town relatives and friends attended.The honorees received many gifts, two money “trees,” flowers and-congratulatory cards.Mrs. Schurr is the former Mary Peat of Coatbridge, Scotland. She and Mr. Schurr were united in marriage at the Homeville Christian Church with the Kev. Charles Scott, pastor, officiating.They resided for many years at Homestead where Mr, Schurr was employed by the U. S. Steel Corp. He retired in 1955 after fifty years' employment. At that time they purchased a farm in Acme and have resided there since.They are members of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church.
