An order was passed to that effect The rc-; qulrements of the state department of education were met and the next year, 3.914, the Ciendenin school became a first class school, conditionally. The next year all the requirements were met and the school became first class and has continued as a first class school to the present time, Tn the scoring- of the schools made this year the local school was scored by L. T, Tustin, supervisor of rural schools for West Virginia, at 93 per cent. This is the highest score ever reached by the school. Such a score tends to show the ad-' vancement that has been made by t.ie members of the board of education and 11 io patrons of the school.In the year IS27. Big Sandy district high school was admitted a# a member of the north' centz'al association of colleges and secondary schools. This is the highest honor that can come to any high school or college, in the United States. The first year. 3 927, orjy 32 schools in the state were admitted as members of tins association. Again honor had come to the local school. Just recently we received an official notification of a continued membership, in the assoc fall on for another year.It nay b© weJ) to state that after three years only S2 of the 250 high schools in West Virginia have been elected to membership in the north central assoclatio .
