G. Waterman the first Friday in May of. each year will hereafter be set apart by the teachers and pupils of the Waterman Public School to be celebrated as Waterman Day.’’ Mr. Waterman, not only donated the site for the handsome school building in Northwest Harrisonburg, erected in 19.11, but has maintained an interest in the work of the institution, to such an extent that an annual celebration in his honor byrthe children is an appropriate reeogni tion of his beneficence.We are told that no detail of the activities of the Waterman youngsters is so small as to escape Mr, Waterman’s attention, even down to the baseball gamds, when his boys beat the Main street team. As to the feeling of the Kids toward Mr. Waterman, it surely would have warned his heart to have heard his name cheered to the echo yesterday by the two hundred or more pupils on the occasion of his annual treat.The name of A. G. Waterman w.lJJ.long live in the memories of the young people who each year are getting the foundation of their education in the school, which will stand as a monument to this manifestation of his public spirit. ‘ lt;A‘
