Large Delegation Will Go to “Y. W. Okobo j i MeetingBsc IVUwiWthCccapSthwfrlemwtiEight or 10 girls -will represent Waterloo at the Y, W. C. A. conference of Business and IndustrialGirls, July 14-25, at bake Okobo-ji if tentative plans culminate successfully. • They will be chosen from Ye Yz Ones, Jol.Iy Evening. Dramatic clubs, - orchestra and Council of Employed Gfirls.. Girls, also, may be selected'to represent workers in different industries regardless of connection with the Y.W. C. A.Total expenses of the conference for one girl are about $35 and an effort to raise about $15 of the amount will be made thru benefit functions, according to Mrs. Nellie Brown Sinclair, department secretary.The first of a series of activities will be on the evening of May 12 and 13 when the orchestra and Dramatic club will give a joint recital in the recreation room. A sixteen-week term in stringed orchestra work under direction of J. D. Knapp has been completed and parts of the program will be demonstrations of -what may be accomplished in that period. Four one-act plays,directed by Mrs. Marion Cooley de-Paar, will be produced. .Committee on arrangements includes Misses Marie Hansen, Marie Will, Viola Mishak and Grace Kauffer.Members of the dolly Evening club will give a roof garden party for their men friends May 14, those in charge of the affair- being Misses Ella Webber. Adeline Kiehn, bor-raine Mass, Clara Hansen, Anna Frederick and Hulda Huegli.A carnival planned for May 21 by the Council of Employed Girls is the third event considered, more definite arrangements to be made at the meeting Monday night. Following cafeteria supper at 5:45, j four delegates will be chosen to attend the conference.
