Linderman was held at the' Baptist church at DeRuyter last Sunday. There was a large attendance both morning and evening. The G. A. R. and W. C. T. IT. were among others present. The morning sermon on “Lights and shadows of fifty years,” was well worth listening to, proving the fact that God never tires of caring for his children. Letters of congratulation from the Second Brookfield church, and from prominent people in numerous places and states were read at the morning service, all testifying to the beautiful life and character and Christian service which Rev. Linderman had always rendered. Following the morning exercises a prepared dinner was served to the pastor and family by members of the church, the G. A.^R. being invited to participate. The evening service was equally interesting, being in charge of the pastors of the village, Revs. Briggs, Burdick and Bridaon, who in turn made brief remarks suitable to the occasion. A fine poem, written by the pastor’s wife, Mrs. Carrie H. Linderman, for the occasion, was read by her daughter at the morning service. Rev. G. P. linderman was pastor here for three years and has many friends who will be pleased to read a brief account of the interesting event.Rev. F. D. Blakcslee of BinghamtonM tin 4 /ITT Atl
