Most Striking Musical and Spectacular Event.THE LIVING FLAGLargest Crowd in History of Theatre —Wonderful Educational Work of Prof. Meissner Shown.The annual May Day concert, under the direction of Prof. W.. Otto Meissner, supervisor of music in the city schools, was Riven last evening, at the Auditorium, by the pupils of the public schools of the city. A capacity house greeted the children, who presented an entertainment ol‘ much merit. 13verv available seat was sold, making it one of the largest houses‘present at a performance since the theatre was opened.The program consisted of choruses sung by three hundred school’children, selections by the high school military band of eighteen pieces, by the high school mandjlin club of twenty-two pieces, and by the high school orchestra of twenty-four pieces, interspersed with numbers by members of the various musical organizations.The event witnessed the debut of the high school military band, which appeared in new white uniforms and caps, trimmed with red braid. The hand was organized by Prof. Meissner November 1 and the success of the undertaking and the ability acquired by the school boys has been phenomenal. The members of the band and Professor Meissner have worked untiringly to perfect this organization and it is now one of the best bands ever organized in the city.Equally wonderful has been
