Mrs, Nancy Marvel was given a big surprise dinner at her home in Cynth-ana Friday in honor of her birthday. The surprise was worked up by her husband, who invited the near relatives and friends in. They came in a body at the noon hour with well filled bas-kets. She was taken completely by surprise and was at a loss for words to ex-. *. s*press her feeling. She entered into the spirit of the day, however, and assisted in making the day a very enjoyable one for all. A sumptuous dinner was spread and enjoyed by the large number present and the afternoon spent in a charming manner in a social way. Late in the afternoon the guests departed, wishing her many returns of the day.
