The express brought «. 285 letter*. o private telegrams and a large summary of new*..r.. 11Sa Francisco, April 20th.—The steamer John L Stephens sailed for Panama this morning with Sl.JWlf.7M in treasure. The demonstration was equally enthusiastic and more imposing when the Express reached San- Francisco. TV city was lit tip by numerous j bonfires, a torchlight procession was forme*!.- the military companies were out, and the ponv ,j, was escorted from the steamer to the heart of the city amidst a blaze of fireworks.
