A SECOND FASHIONABLE WEDDING AT ST. MARY’S, ISLANDS OF SCILLY.It is but seldom that the usually quiet Island cf St. Mary’s, Islands of Seilly, is honoured by two fashionable weddings in one week, but the oldadage—“ That it «e»#r rains but it pours ”—has been verified, and the marriage of Mr. F. Watts and Miss Annie Laity Banfield on Tuesday week has been supplemented by that of Mr. James Trahair (sou of Mr. W. Trahair, Newlyn, ) to Margaret Jane ( eldest daughter of Mr*. Helgate, “ Hugh House *' hotel, St. Mary’s, on Thursday,The ceremony was impressively performed by theRev. J. H. White. Mr. W. Bastiaa presided at the organ. The bride was dressed in a brown silk and hat to match, and was attended by four bridesmaids ( who were also dressed in brown and prune, with hats to match.) She was led to the altar by Mr. John Edwards, yeoman, of Trenoweth, St. Mary’s.The bridesmaids were the MissesjJulia and Emily Holgate ( sisters to the bride, ) Miss Weymouth Trahair (sister of the bridegroom,) and Mias Clara Edwards, of Trenoweth. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. F. Mc.Farland as best man. There was a fair attendance, considering the state of the weather to witness the ceremony, and in many parts ef the Island the numerous flags floating in* the breeze were indications of the happy event.Owing to the boisterous weather the Lady oj the Isles did not leave for Penzance, and the happy pair had the happiness of spending the first day of their wedded life in the bosom of their friends, instead of conforming to the fashionable customs of being banished from home as soon as the connubial knot has been tied. The wedding presents were numerous and muchadmired and appreciated, and the bridal bouquets ( composed of choice flowers and maiden hair ferns, tastefully arranged ) were supplied by Mr. G. Yallauce, of the Abbey gardens, Tresco.
