Celebrates Birthdav4*Mrs. J. G. Gladden, 514 south Pine street, entertained today with a surprise birthday dinner in honor of her mother, Mrs. W. A. Carlton who was celebrating her 74th birthday anniversary.The dining table was decorated with bouquets of roses, carnations and hyacinths, with three white angel food cakes featured. Covers! were laid for 30 guests. !Alter dinner hours were spent informally quilting a friendship' quilt lor the honoree. Out-of-town i guests included: Mrs. Jay Grimm.; Mfs. A. B. Wilson and Mrs. Obie ’ Butler of Green Forest.
