First Baptistto present Easter musical draniaThe First Baptist Church of Brownfield will present an Easter musical drama at 7 p.m. this Sunday, March 31, in the sanctuary of the church. A cast of forty, all in Biblical costuming. will dramatize the events just before and after the crucifixion of Christ. Full lighting and staging has been prepared by the people of the church.The musical drama opens with Luke and the chorus portraying Christ's triumphal entry into Jerusalem. The scenes which follow, depict the Lord's Super. Peter's denial, the Crucifixion and Mary Magdalene’s discovery of the empty tomb and lead to the dramatic finale of the title song, “Our Joy Comes in the Morning. The closing hymn. “Hallelujah. What a Savior ”, will be sung by the cast and the congregation.Portraying CHRIST will be Mike Timmons, MARY THE MOTHER by Marge Flowers, JUDAS will be by J.W. Hawkins, MARY MAGDALENE by Melanie Wilkins. LUKE by Phil Dunlap. PETER by Dick Fletcher, JOHN by Andy Timmons and JAMES by Mik McWhor-ter.The beautiful 8 by 24 foot scenery backdrop was painted by a group of artists directed by Lovella Todd.The performance is directed by minister of music Charles Rich. Accompanists will be Eddie Sharp and Ruth Ram-seur. Pastor Ken Flowers invites our community to hear and see this musical drama. The medium of dramatics make9 real, and impresses upon the memory, the story as presented in the Bible.Indians of Mexico believed female twins could not cook tamales.
