REPORTE1—7bAvery Wright to Head Lexington HomecomingLexington's tenth annual homecoming plans are underway according to chairman, Avery Wright, The date is May1-3.Wright, newly elected vice president of Lexington Community Enterprises. Inc. which sponsors this annual event, states that all chairmen of committees required to put on this celebration, which usually brings more than 1000 visitors into Lexington, have been appointed and plans are in the making for a gala weekend.The celebration is slated to begin on Thursday. May 1, with an inter-denominational church service on the town square sponsored by Lexington’s Ministerial Alliance.Friday, May 2. will feature a youth rodeo sponsored by American Legion Frank Smelzer Post #6 at the rodeo arena recently built by legion post.Saturday. May 3, will be country-western oriented as there will be music on the town square during the afternoon, foods supplied by various civic organizations for the evening meal and the Saturday night street dance.Sunday, May 4, homecomers are urged to attend the church of their choice and then the barbecue lunch at the school cafetorium which will be toppedoff by desserts from the kitchens of Lexington ladies.Usual cooperation is expected from Lexington citizens inmaking preparations for this year's homecoming. More detailed plans will be announced later.
