Mr. and Mrs. Herbert E. Rolfe of Ryderwood, Wash., former well-known Butte residents, were honored guests at a# recent reception at the Ryderwood Community Church, the occasion being their 50th wedding anniversary.Golden wedding bells and baskets of yellow roses, daffodils, chrysanthemums and forsythia decorated the church hall. The table was covered with a lace cloth centered with golden candles and flowers.All of the Rolfe’s six children were present at the anniversary party, including a son, Gilbert Rolfe of Seattle; and daughters, Mrs. Walter Oliphant, Seattle; Mrs. Elmer Way, Addy, Wash.; Mrs. Raymond Shanklin, Ronan; Mrs. Fred Roberts and Mrs. Michael Zyzniewski, both of Butte.Also attending were Mrs. A. E. Maxwell, twin sister of Mr. Rolfe from Great Falls, two great granddaughters, Vicky and Laurel Lester, and numerous grandchildren.In addition to Vicky and Laurel, ther great grandchildren include Susan Slaughter and Debra Pederzani.Mrs. Rolfe, the former Evie May Cunningham, was born in New York and her husband in Great Falls, where they were married Feb. 22, 1910. Mr. Rolfe worked for years as a sampler for the Anaconda Co., and he and his wife made their home here until 1957.Mr. Rolfe’s maternal grandfather was Sidney Edger-ton, first territorial governor of Montana, who received his appointment from the president, Abraham Lincoln.Mr. and Mrs. Herbert C.
