The Nos. 4 and 6 both became wedged in the huge windrows of Ice which was piled up by the strong northeast winds and it was necessary to Bend for the No. 5, the ico crusher of the line to release the two boats.The boats have been making regular trips to Menominee since about March 1, when they broke through th e-1 cer The No~t became wedged in the Ice Friday when attempting the passage of the bay and when the No. 6 came tp rescue the big boat she stripped her propeller and was stranded. The' No. 5 then effected the rescue of both crafts and the No. 6 was returned to this port for repairs.No. 5 Clears ChannelThe No. 5 experienced no difficulty in forcing a passge and an entire new channel for the full distance of the bay was made. In leaving Menominee Saturday morning the boats again encountered trouble but with the No. 6 leading tho way had little difficulty in negotiating the distance across the bay. It is predicted that the first heavy wind from the- southward will start the ice going out of the Green Bay.The men aboard the two boats Friday had an unusual experience when they started far the shore, which appeared to be Dut a short distance away.
