SOCIETYo;TSCELEBRATES BIRTHDAY ANNIVERSARYPortia Fordtran Smart, of the Divide, celebrated her fifth birthday anniversary Saturday afternoon when her mother, Mrs. Lon Smart, 'Jr., entertained a group of children in the Green Room of tho Blue Bonnet Hotel.The Easter motif predominated in the decorations. The plate favors were plastic Easter baskets, on which the names of the guest’s were inscribed, and were filled with candies. The birthday cake was was in the shape of an Easter basket, decorated with pink icing and green satin ribbons, candied eggs, rabbits and chickens.Movies of ''Donald Duck,” and Minnie Mouse” were shown to the children. Mrs. Smart was assisted by her mother, Mrs. Dee Hughs, and Mrs. L. D. Garrett in serving the birthday cake and ice cream to the guests.Enjoying the happy occasion were Bobbilee Ramsey, Dianna Sue Dismukcs, Sammy Kaye Smart Jack Klein, Scott Stehling, De-Sha Peterson, Bob Schmerbeck, III; Joe Burkett, III; Susan Gath-ings, Jeannie Lee Stover, Jennie Lou Crate, Ann Nickerson, Marion Flo Lindner, Cathy Carden, Judith McBryde, Mariiynn Schmerbeck, Dianne Price, Sally Fawcett, Kaye Dempsey, Carl Botchers and Kathleen Carter of Bryan.HOME DEMONSTRATION CLUBTho Home Demonstration Club met Friday afternoon in the home of Mrs. Q. E. Graccy, with Mrs. Ruby Woody as assisting hostess. Eighteen members and four visitors were present.Miss Alma Hancock gave a demonstration on the making of ice box rolls, and gave each member the recipe.The hostess served a delicious salad course. The next meeting will be with Mrs. Charles Osborne on April 7.❖ ❖ ❖PAST MATRONS ARE ENTERTAINEDThe Past Martons Club of the Order of the Eastern Star met Friday afternoon with Mrs. Okley Jones in her home on the Divide. Blossoming plants were used to arrange the home for the occasion and a delicious supper was served to 18 members.Mrs. A. Zastera presided at the business meeting, and the social hour fololvved.
