William £. Curtis passed to his eternal reel Sattfrday afternoon at 3 40 o'clock after a suffering illness of five weeks. The best physicians in the two cities were summoned and administered tint were unable to do anything for the suffsrer.The funeral services were held this afternoon at 2 o’clock at the home of his mother. Rev S. S. Healy officiating. Tne services were attended by a large ooncourse of sorrowing rela tives and friends, and the floral tributes were benntifnl and numerous. Sacred hymns were rendered by the Congregational choir. The remains were laid away for ever in the I. O. O F. cemetery of this city The fol lowing pall oearers chosen from the I O. O. F. ot this city, of which the deceased is a member carried him to his last resting place Dr. E. L. Dow, U. K. Goodrich, Charles Rosen gren, Kd Slater, Henry Hein and Grant Landis.‘Aillitm lii. Curtis was born in Tam -1 pico township Dec. 14, 1853, where hehved with his parents Mr. and Mrs. George W. Curtis, for a number ofyears. On Jan. 15 1879 he was married to Miss Edna Barber, and about twelve years ago ne moved to thii-j city and engaged in the livery business, which he followed until the time he was confined to his bed. In addition to his grief stricken wife he leaves the following children, nil boys Arthur,I Elmer, Sydney and George and h!s aged mother. Mra. George W. Curtis; also the following brothers and sister * Henry of this city, Jesse of Deightoo, Iowa, Mrs. B. F. Gray ot this city and Mrs. Irvin (ireen of Whiting, Iowa.Mr. Curtis was a member of the L O. O. F. of this city and the Mystic \Vorkers. He was a kind hearted man. lored by his family and eeteemed by all who knew him. He was highly respected by the community as a business map and had won numerous friends, who feel the sting of death and monrn with the family in bis calling to another home. The grief stricken family have the sincere aym pathy of the community in their hour of grief.
