DEAR PETER: Thanks forDEAR BONNIE: I didSt. John AME churchcelebrates anniversarySt. John AME church will celebrate its 118th anniversary April 28, at 4 p.m. with a program centering on the church, then and now. Gladys White, Gladys White chairperson of .he annual event, said that it is a special anniversary because it vill point out how St. John AME las countinuously served tthe :ommunity over the years. They ire gearing up for their 120th anniversary which will also be the200th anniversary of the national African Methodist Episcopal Church.Geraldine Brown is program chairperson for the celebration; she is also writing a history of the church.Jonan Haskell will give a general presentation on the history of Burlington churches and Helen Berry and Laura Baker will speak on 'St. John AME -then and now.'isRev.
