Old Ingleside Landmark RazedBy Mrs. Zelma ShriderThe “castle” is no more. A famous landmark, built in 1929, at the entrance to Ingleside Cove, has been razed. The large two-story structure, reminiscent of ancient castles along the Rhine river in Germany, was built by Mr. and Mrs. H. K. Boeckle, late parents of Mrs. Joe Mircovich Sr., of the cove.Standing like a sentinel, its height reared against the onslaughts of wind and tide, the old house has long been a point of interest for home-folks and visitors alike. Now, because of the insecurity of its stairways the long-famous building has been tom down.Mrs. Mircovich, who resides with her family at the cove, told the story of the unusual structure.
