100th event for Edwina AkinsMINNEAPOLIS - A 2 to 4 p.m. open house is planned March 28 in the Wellness Center of the Ottawa County Hospital, 215 E. Eighth, in celebration of the 100th birthday of Edwina Akins.Hosts are her son, Richard Gary, and his wife, 1312 Quincy, Salina.One of her three grandsons will assist. The other two will be unable to attend.There are three great-grandsons.Mrs. Akins was born Edwina Snyder March 30,1893, in Leon.Her first husband, Ernest Gary, died in 1956. Her second husband, Roy Nett, died in 1969.She married Frank Akins in 1978; they both«live in the hospital’s longterm care unit.All friends and relatives are invited.The honoree requests no gifts.
