If the Democratic Party is to be successful in delivering on its remaining 1990 campaign promises next year, it will take a coordinated effort of the governor, lieutenant governor and Senate Demo leadership.Gov. King must get involved early instead of operating from afar. Lt. Gov. Casey Luna must work with Senate Demo leaders. It is much easier to run an agenda in the House where the Speaker can initiate actions. The president of the Senate merely presides over the body and is often in the dark as to the plan of action. And Senate Demo leaders must organize to handle a system that is cumbersome at best.
