Buyer-KnappSharon Lynn Knapp and John R. Buyer were recently married in a double-ring ceremony with the Rev. Dewey Hoitenga officiating.The setting for the candlelight service was Christ Church of Oak Brook.The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Knapp of Elmhurst, formerly of N. Grove Av., Oak Park, wore a cream-colored, empire style jersey knit gown with a hood. Nancy Knapp was maid of honor and Mrs. Chris Quirch and Susan Campbell were bridesmaids. Anne Chapman was flower girl.Buyer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph C. Buyer of Freeport, had Jerry Hough as his best man. Paul Buyer and Rick Hollander were groomsmen and John Chapman, ring bearer.An afternoon tea was held at the church immediately after the ceremony. Ron Kubelik, pianist, entertained.The newlyweds are at home in Car-bondale where Buyer is studying for a master’s degree in communications at Southern Illinois University. He holds a bachelor of science degree in radio, television and psychology.The new Mrs. Buyer has a bachelor of art’s degree in English from Southern Illinois.
