The entire committee will meetwithin the next two weeks withUrban Renewal officials and elect a Dermancnt chairman of thefcsVUD.Those representing district one which includes Seventh St.to 11th St. are:Mrs. A. I. Brown, S. P. Richardson, J. W. Purvis, Melvin Daniel and Sam Smith. The second district representatives from 12th to 16th St. are Alvin Gore, Sam Simmons. Frank Boston, Rev. C. N. Newell and Douglas Melton. The third district, from 17th through 20th St. will be represented by George Gaddy, Richard Bradford, C. C. Coleman, Mrs. Arwilla Davidson and Samuel Newsome.The Rev. J. T. Hall, who served as temporary chairman ofthe jgroup, presided over themeeting.Russell Lindsey, vice chairman of the Laurel Urban Renewal Agency: Tom Seabrook, city planner; and Jack Waite, executive director of the Urban Renewal Agency, explained there-development of the areawould include taking out substandard housing as well as improving the entire section. This would also include improved public facilities such as recreation, streets and sewerage.The project area committee will participate in planning and carrying out the Urban Renewalproject the area.
