DauphinCoupleFetedOnSilverThe family of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Kowalchuk honored their parents on the occasion of their 25th wedding anniversary by holding a reception and dance in the Ukrainian Peoples’ Home on Saturday, Feb. 20.Fred Chaykowski, as masterof ceremonies gave a brief resume of the honored couple’s lives.Mrs. Mike Rawluk (nee Stril-ehuk) who was bridesmaid, and Wally Goran and Tony Kowalchuk who was best men at the couple's wedding 25 years ago, were present for the occasion.The toast to Maimie and Gordon was made by Tony Kowal-chuk, followed by a presentation by Mrs. Rawluk of a gift from friends present.Best wishes were expressed by their four daughters, Diane of Calgary; Carol and Linda of Winnipeg; and Teresa of Dauphin. The sisters together proposed a toast to their parents. Nick Kowalchuk and Fred Stril-Anniversarychuk, fathers of the couple, extended their best wishes.The supper program wasbrought to a close by a talk and prayer by Rev. Eugene Ste-faniuk, and the guests joined in singing Mnohoya Lita.SPECIAL GIFTSThe family presented their parents with a silver plaque and will later present them with a family portrait and album. The gift from their friends was a set of silver. They also received individual gifts, cards and flowers.Congratulatory telegra mswere received from Mr. and Mrs. Tom Comber and Randy Rawluk of Winnipeg and from Hon. Peter Burtniak, minister of tourism.Family attending from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Mike Rawluk, Winnipeg; Mr. and Mrs. Ernie Kowalchuk and Mrs. Rose Kowalchuk of Calgary.Prior to the reception a special service was held for Mr. and Mrs. Kowalchuk in The Ukrainian Greek Orthodox Church of St. George, conducted bv Rev Stefaniuk.
