Rev. SaltsmanELYRIA — The Rev. Tom Saltsman, 87, of Elyria, for-meriy of Richmond, died Saturday in the Elyria Home, after a lingering illness.He entered the home in February, 1873, and was a retired approved supply pastor of the Methodist Conference serving churches in Empire, Sugar Grove, Fosterville, Mt. Pleasant, Freeport and Bloomingdale. The Rev. Mr: Saltsman was associated in the founding of Camp Aldersgate, Carrollton, and served churchesfor 27 years.Surviving are a brother John Saltsman of Brilliant; and a sister Mrs. Elia Moffitt of Steubenville.The Rev. Mr. Saltsman was born Sept. 21,1888, in Jefferson County. His wife Mrs. Zona Saltsman died in July, 1963.Services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Elyria Home; the Rev. Richard Glass; Graveside service at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Union Cemetery, Richmond; the Rev. Thomas H. R. Hammerton, Steubenville District Superintendent of Methodist Conference, assisted by the Rev. Charles M. Daifey.
