Goltry was observed here Sunday with a family gathering at the home of their daughter, Mrs. W. M. Christenson. .They were married at Traer, Iowa, March 10, 1890.The marriage service was read by the Methodist preacher at Traer in the home of Mr. and Mrs. S. Y.' McKinney, uncle and aunt of the bride; Miss Alice Rose Balliet. The wedding dinner was served at the home, of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Balliet, and they left at once for a month’s stay with relatives of the bridegroom at Dayton, Iowa. From there they went to Mr. GoKry's ranch near Sturgis, S. D.They lived on the ranch for 12 years, where Mr. Goltry and his brother raised cattle and horses. Some of those years were devoid of crops and at the end of eight years they sold their claim and moved to Newell, Iowa, where Mr. Goltry became associated with his father in the elevator business under the firm; name of M. Goltry and Company.During their stay in Dakota, three daughters were born to Mr. and Mrs.) Goltry, Blanche Isabelle, now visiting in the south; Florence Belle, nowjMrs. Florence Marshall of Arnolds Park; and Hazel Mildred, now MrsJ W. M. Christenson of Arnolds Park. In 1900 a son, Ralph Marlin, wasjborn at Newell. He died in 1905 at Hot Springs, Ark.1909 Mr. Goltry purchased ‘‘The ” which had been built for a summer home by Col. and Mrs. S. S. Curs of Omaha. The Goltry family starred coming here for summers at that time and in 1918 Mr. Goltry retired from business at Newell and mored here to live. He still oper-ates)“The Villa” as a summer rooming house and has remodelled part of the original building for a large summer cottage and has added other cottages to the property.Prior to moving here, the Goltry daughters were well known in Arnolds Park, all three of them having iaught school here in the grades.Ttie anniversary dinner was served to the family at the Christenson home and attended by Mr. and Mrs. Goltry, Mrs. Marshall, Mr. and Mrs. Christenson, and the two grandchildren, Betty' Jane and JoAlyce Christenson.In the afternoon Mr. and Mrs. Goltry were surprised by the arrival of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Elli-sonjof Dickens, formerly of Newell, who with their daughter came to offer congratulations. They presented Mr. and Mrs. Goltry with a golden serving tray. Also in the afternoon Mrs. S. Y. McKinney, in whose home the wedding was held and who is a sister of Mrs. Goltry, was a guest. Others who called were Mrs. Henry McKinney, Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Groom, Mr. and Mrs. A. V. Hiscox, Mr. and Mrs. L. K. The class had birthday treats a week ago when Donna and Bonnie each had birthdays.Betty Leonard fias enrolled in the third grade, having moved here from Spencer.Perfect attendance during the last six weeks was achieved in the second grade by Robert Christensen, Francis Daly, LeVerne Eckman, Jean Fischer, Howard Merril, La-Rue Olson, Marilyn Sander, and Letcher Gardiner.Lindel Leonard has enrolled in the first grade and Roger Hansen has moved away. He goes to a rural school now.interesting News From Arnolds ParkThe Band Mothers’ club games parly at the Arnolds Park school house Friday night’, March 15, will be preceded by a half-hour band concert, under the direction of Ros-coe Gentry. The concert will begin at 7:30. Games of all kinds are being provided for those who attend. Mrs. W. M. Christenson is chairman of the division in charge of the party.Miss Frances Orr, daughter of Mrs. Elizabeth Orr of Arnolds Park, had an appendectomy at the Coleman hospital in Estherville Saturday. Miss Orr is a teacher at the Excelsior township consolidated school.Mrs. Tom Olson was brought home from Rochester, Minn., early this week. She had been there about a month for observation and a major operation. Mr. Olson went to Rochester Sunday.Miss Hattie P.
