EVELYN CLARA JEWELLCUMBERLAND - Mrs. Evelyn Clara Jewell, 79, of 220 Somerville Avenue, Booth Towers, died Sunday, March 11 1990, in Memorial Hospital, where she had been a patient for four days.Born in Cumberland July 2, 1910, she was a daughter of the late Percival Raymond and Minnie Belle (Heavner) Wright. Her husband, Paul C. Jewell,died in 1968.Mrs. Jewell was a retired employee of the Celanese Corporation, where she worked in the dye house department. She also had been employed at the Elda nightclub. She was a Methodist by faith.Surviving are two sons, Jack Shipway, Houston, Tex.; and Gerald Halle, Alexandria, Va.; one daughter, Mrs. Patricia Bridgeman, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; one brother; several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.Friends will be received at the Silcox-Merritt Funeral Residence Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.Services will be conducted in the funeral home Thursday at 10 a.m. by the Rev. Harold R. McClay Jr.Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
