Mr. and Mrs. George Swift of Forestville Spent Six YearsForesiville, March 12—Mr. and Mrs. George- Swift or this place i observed the fiftieth anniversary ol their marriage with a reception of friends and relatives at their Bennett road home - Sunday. The anniversary of their wedding fell on Monday.George Swift and Miss Helen Warner were united in marriage on March 11, 1890 at Hamlet. Alter a wedding attended by. many friends they boarded a.train at South Dayton ■. arid went tofarm which they bouzht for.$1.25 an acre after' they had. ■' lived lor seven years- They had a dairy farm which, they, bought for. a 51-25 a. acre, after: they, had lived on, the. farm; for. six months. There Were rio'roads .then, only- trails. A mound, on the ground, represented a four comer;, four holes in the ground a mile and two holes a % mile. . They had the experience of going through , cyclones, prairie fires, droughts and-floods.-A; son,Warner, was bom in 1B94: In 1895 they moved' back to Hamlet, where they lived for f Only one year.
