WALTER 22NNELS HONORED ON 50TH ANNIVERSARYIMr. and Mrs. Walter Zinnel of West Bend, Iowa, were honored on their 50th wedding anniversary by an Open House at the West Bend St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Sunday afternoon, February 20th. The affair was hosted by their children,Melvin, Harold, Leo, Hazel (Mul-lahey), Eugene, Mary Ann (Davis), and Joe.One hundred fifty persons came to pay their respect and were registered by Mrs. Wayne Hyde of Des Moines. Susan Schnathorst a granddaughter,was in charge of displaying thegifts and Melvin Zinnel of Fort Dodge and Leo Zinnel of Esther-ville acted as hosts.Mrs. Harold Zinnel of Fort Dodge dipped punch, and Mrs. Jerry Mullahey of Des Moines and Mrs. Joe Zinnel of Ruthven were at the coffee services. Mrs. Eugene Zinnel of Manson and Mrs. Michael Davis of Swea City cut the cake.A family dinner was held at noon, served by the ladies of St. Peter and Paul’s Ladies Group.There was a tinge of sadness at1 this occasion, since Mrs. Zinnel was unable to be at her husband’s side. Several days earlier she suffered a slight stroke, and even though she was recovering nicely, the doctor thought it best she remain in the hospital awhile longer.Guests came from Clarion, Humboldt, Fort Dodge, Dakota City, Algona, Manson, Ruthven, Swea City, Ottosen, Emmetsburg, Estherville and West Bend, Albert Lea, Minn, Duncombe, Iowa, Eagle Grove, Clear Lake, and
