A. F. Woodcock And Wife Wed 50 Years AgoMr. and Mrs. A. F. Woodcock of 503 South Clinton street, Albia, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at their home, Monday, March 7, 1938. About 40 guests were in attendance at the observance of the event which included a dinner in the evening.Mr. Woodcock and Cynthia Thomas were married seven miles southwest of Albia on March 7, 1888. Mr. Woodcock was born in Moravia and with hia parents moved to Monroe county while still very young. Mr. Woodcock is a native ofMonroe county‘s TTuy moved to Albia two years ago.Mr. and MrB. Woodcock are in unusual good health and have a cozy home in south Albia. They were very happy that they could celebrate their golden wedding anniversary, for it iB granted only a very few to live happily married for 50 years. They have a fine family of son3 and daughter-in-laws, who take their place with the sons in the hearts of the father and mother.The table was beautifully decorated with a three tier angel food cake and miniature bride and groom.They were the recipients of many nice gifts, including a purse• of money and a gold plate which was given to Mr, Woodcock’si father and mother at their golden ' wedding on Jan. 27, 1909, and is now 29 years old. This plate will:• be handed down to the next in line I that celebrate their golden wedding.
