Friends Give DelightfulFart7 for Mr*. Clarence Lynam-Notes of a Busy Week*A delightful mcmm vrma the mxrpme birthday party given at the hods© of Capt. and Mm Clarence L. Lynam oh Thursday evening. Their spadoua home was most attr^tively arranged and decorated for the occasion, one long to be remembered by those fortunate enough to be present. Capt and Mrs. Lynam were invited to dinner and spend the evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Liscomb. But a telephone call about eight o'clock announcing guests, unexpected, called them home, where to Mrs. Lynarh’s complete surprise, friends and neighbors had taken possession, with tables to the number of ten, attractively arranged for progressive 63. Capt. Lynam was “in” on the secret, but Mrs. Lynam decidedly was not. But very graciously and with her usual hospitality, she made every guest feel a warm and cordial welcome.Table number one was arranged specially for the guests of honor under the light of a handsome electric floor lampthe birthday gift to Mrs. Lynam. Thescore cards were very unique in the form of a booklet with small photographic viewof Seal Harbor on the cover. Prizes were won by Mrs. Clarence Norwood and Alanson E. Clement, first; Mrs. A. E. Clement and S F. Ralston, consolation. An unusual but very pleasing incident was connected with awarding first gentleman’s prize which was a fine picture from the Liscomb studio, of the road built under the supervision of Mr. Clement. It being Mrs. Lynam’s birthday, a wonderful birthday cake, the gift of Mrs. Loring Watson, beautifullydecorated with pink roses and green leaves, was presented by Miss Dubay with all good wishes. The guests departed about one o’clock following delicious refreshments of candy, sandwiches, ice-cream, cake and coffee served by the host and hostesses. Mr. and Mrs, Ralph E. Liscomb, Miss Modeste Dubay andMiss Alice Clough to~whom much credit is due for the success, in every detail, of the largest surprise party given in Sea!
