PLEASANT BIRTHDAY AFFAIR AT NEW LONDON -New London, la., March 10.—Mrn. W. H. Hanks was very pleasantly Isurprised Sunday at her home on Wilson street when relative* came ! with well filled baskets to assist In honoring her birthday. At the noon 1 hour a three course dinner was served I !o thirty-six guests: Mr. and Mrs. W. i H. Tye, Mr. and Mrs. Perry Hank and ! children, Rex, Win, Glenn and Mabel;: Mrs. Mabel Stafford and daughters,; Bessie and Lela; Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Ball and daughter, Helen; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Linkln and children, Myra and Virgil; Mr. and Mrs. John Hanks and children, Raymond, Clarence and Velda; Messrs. Ray McNeil, Willis Hanks, Misses Minnie McCune end Rfile Baker of this city; Mr. and Mrs. James Albers and sons, Frank andDelbert of West Burlington; Mrs. Ed j; Oberman and children, Wilma and Melvin of Mt. Pleasant and Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Hanks. They departed ata late hour wishing Mrs. HankB many happy returns of the day.
