MR. AND MRS. HENRY LAWrONCELEBRATE GOLDEN JUBILEEAir. -and Mrs. Henry Lawton of -£ast Hamilton Avenue, formerly Camp Olden, recently celebrated their golden wedding anniversary. They w^re surrounded by their children and grandchildren. After a bountiful repast Mr. and Mrs. Lawton were given a golden token from their children. Their son, william, made the speech. In return the children were given-souvenirs by the parents, On behalf of the children, their oldest eon, Harry Lawton, -congratulated the parents on being able to celebrate the happy occasion.Mr. and Mrs. Lawton were united in marriage by the Rev. O. T. Walker, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Trenton. March fi, I860.Forty-nine years ago Mr. Lawton enlisted in Company B. Fourth’New Jersey Regiment, and camped on Camp Olaen, the site of his present home before going to the front. He was captured, by the Confederates at the battle of Gaines' Mills and. Bent to the famous Libby Prison. After being held there for nearly a year he was exchanged and soon rejoined his comrades. He fought in the battles of South Mountain, Antletam, Wilderness,MR. AND MRS. HENRY LAWTON.Gettysburg and scores of minor fights. At the close of the war he rejoined his family ip Trenton. He learned the pottery trade and Is one of the best known potters In the city. ' He Is also a member of Aarcn Wilkes Poat No. 23, of this city. Mr. Lawton la 72 years old.Mrs. Lawton is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eamuel Van Peidt. She is a prominent member of the auxiliaries of the Knights of Pythias and Woman’s Relief Corps.• Among those who attended the reunion were: Mr. and Mrs. Henry Lawton, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Lawton, Mr. and Mrs. Robert W. Walker, of Rahway; Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Cotton. Mr. and Mrs. George Hoag. Mr. and Mrs. William Tenton. of Martin's Perry, Ohio; Mr. and Mrs. William Lawton, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Chamberlain, Jr., Joseph Lawton, Miss Anna Walker, of Rahway; Robert and Clement Walker, of .Rahway; Leon Lawton.
