Meacham of Baker was elected president of the Old Oregon Trail association at its annual meeting here today. A. W. Nelson of La-Grande was elected secretary to succeed Horace B. Ryder of Baker. Vice presidents of the organization will be selected by the president.The purpose of the organization is to promote the designation and improvement of a trunk highway from the Missouri river to the western coast of Oregon to be known as the Old Oregon trail. The route follows the pioneer trail over which early pioneers came to the northwest.
