By OBERT PETERSONQ. — “My wife sang in some operettas as a girl. Now a half century later she’s been reading your advice about using talents and has decided to share her vocal gifts with the world. We can’t go to a party or to anyone’s house without her telling folks she’s resuming her singing career. Ten seconds after anyone asks her to sing, she’s croaking away on the ‘Indian Love Call’ or something. How can I get her to realize folks are laughing at her? She actually thinks she’s great.’’A. — If she can make people laugh she’s a better entertainer than mostsingers. Personally, I get a kick out of anyone who displays a willingness to entertain. Most parties and gatherings need a bit of live talent, whether it’s good or bad. Remind yourself that you’re probably oversensitive, and that others may react more favorably to your wife’s talents. Give her some credit for sensing audience reaction. If she’smaking a fool of herselfwouldn’t take a job on a bet. Just not having to get up in the morning till I feel like it makes old age worthwhile. I love music, reading, plays, movies, baseball, and football. I get my own meals and bet onthe horses. I haven’t timefor a job and hope to hit 100 just ambling along the way1 am.”A. — You’re a lucky dog to savor your leisure? time, and to have enough money hitting your postboxmonthly to give you peace of mind. They want specific chores or part-time jobs to keep the cobwebsAll 4 Escapees Captured, Back In Sheridan JailRushville — Pourescapees from the Sheridan County jail have been captured and returned to the jail, officials said Friday. The quartet broke out Sunday night bv sawing throughhands and of themfrom theirminds. Now he’s at the bourbon a dozen times a day, andwhen I remind h i m it’s costly and harmful snaps that it’s his money and his health and he’ll do as he pleases. What can I do? He just sits there in a blue fog and won’t go anyplace.”A. — Not much. Retired folks who find hard liquormore comforting than carpentry or canasta are hard to rehabilitate.
