Two IdahoansPress forWater ProjectsBythe298TCWASHINGTON—Funds to begin construction of the Lower Teton and Ririe projects should have number one priority in Idaho’s An unified water. development program, Sen. Len Jordon stated in a message to the Committee of Nine meeting in Idaho Falls Monday.Jordan said that the two auth-Chiuniattlie wa C Iomed projects were not specifi-1cally included in the Southeast Idaho Water Project, which he and Congressman George Hansen proposed last week because further planning might become an excuse to further delay their construction.“Because of the high priority which Congressman Hansen and 1 give to Lower Teton and Ririe, we thought it best to let them stand alone as fully authorized and ready to build now, rather than include them with other proposals somo nf which are not yet j even in the study stoge of development, Jordan said. We want nothing to confuse or stand in the way of the construction of these two projects at the earliest possible date.'1The senator said the Southeast Idaho Water Project would be drafted to fit. in with all existing and authorized water projects and uses in the southern and eastern Idaho area.He noted that Lower Teton and Ririe have been fully endorsed as having a high benefit-to-cost ratios and promised renewed efforts to obtain funds for them. The Idaho lawmaker also asked the Committee of Nine for suggestions for additions and improvements in the Southeast Idaho WaLer Project*“Congressman Hansen and I want to get a wide range of suggestions to assure that the best possible program for development of the water resource^ of the Snake River in southern and eastern Idaho is incorporated into onr legislative proposal, Jordan said.re*JWcletRjinNlt;P*deteclberesi:inPrinP*LCSs\trciatRalBiselt;Ca!CisiR
