Mr and Mrs Martin Axland celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary Sunday with their family for dinner, Mr and Mrs Clifford Ax-iand and boys, Mr and Mrs Merrill Axland and family and Mr and Mrs Gerald Axland. Afternoon and evening callers were Mr and Mrs Nels Bme, Rev. and Mrs A. C. Use, Mr and Mrs Benny Hansen, Mr and Mrs Andrew Anvick and Mr and Mrs 1-ars Ostebee. Mrs Merrill Axland baked and decorated a beautiful three tier cake for the occasion.9 ★ ★ *Mr and Mrs Lars Ostebee observed their 4(J th wedding anniversary at their home in Irwin Thursday evening, Feb. 24, the program. in charge of Mrs Russell Nelson, was as follows; Prayer hy Rev. Itse: Song “Blest Be the Tie That Binds. by the entire group. Two readings. “Our Family” and “When Pa “Was Sick, When Ma was Sick, were given by Mrs Howard Mickelson. A trio consisting of Russell Nelson, Chris Sorensen and Hjalmer 'Wiig sang three numbers. The program closed with group singing.The table from which buffet refreshments were served was overlaid with a lace cloth centered with a three tier wedding cake baked and decorated by a daughter and daughter-in-law, Mrs Chris Sorensen and Mrs Magnus Oste-bee. He is survived by hi* wife, one son and one granddaughter. Alto oni^ brother, Carl, of Randolph, Nebr. and 2 sisters in Irwin, Mr* Millie Gaines and Mrs Addle Stephens. Mr Holmes died at the age of 74. Services were held Monday but Mrs Stephens and Mrs Gaines wert unable to attend.Mr and Mrs Ray Anthony and Barbara were Saturday ' dinner guests at the Louis Jensen, Jb home in Harlan.Mrs Larry Richards was honored with a Pink and Blue shower held in the Harold Richards home Sunday.Mrs Homer Hansen and Mrs Vernon Leuih were hostsses to a Pink and Blue shower in honor of Mrs Orlando Hansen Sunday at the Legion hall in Irwin.
