PHI MU ALUMNAE, Mmos. Edward K. Elder, Frank Pooler, George Mitchell and Nell Knight Cleghorn, left to right, were among local Phi Mus celebrating the 111th anniversary of the national sorority’s founding at a luncheon in the Sundowner. Mrs. Elder, president of the local alumnae chapter, is a University of New Mexico alumnae and member of the chapter there. Mrs. Pooler, the former Lolita Iluning, is a charter member of Xi Chapter,founded at UNM in 1911. Mrs. Mitchell, the former Jean Arnot, is a gold shield member of Phi Mu since 191.1. Mrs. Cleghorn. now a resident of Albuquerque. was a member of Phi Mu's Alpha chapter at Wesleyan College. Macon, Ga. Mrs. Cleghorn was given a bouquet of rose carnations in recognition of her long membership in the sorority. Founder’s Day committee members were Mmes. Richard Horral, Oren Strong and Daniel Garst.(Journal photo)
