MARRIAGE OF DR. MADDOX REVEALEDIn spite of all efforts to keep it a secret, the marriage of Miss Olive Etta Cox, student nurse at General J Hospital No. 2, Kansas City, Mo., to Dr. Albert R. Maddox, local physician and Negro city doctor, which occurred during the New Year’s holidays, has just been revealed. The ceremony was performed inKansas City at the home of the bride's brother, Joseph Cox by theRev. A. L. Reynolds pastor ofTaylor Chapel M. E. church of this city. Besides Mr. Cox, Dr. G. M. Sneed, local dentist was a witnessto the marriage.The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Cox of Appleton |Cfty, Mo. She lived in Sedalia before taking up nurse training and was a member of the choir of Taylor Chapel and sang in the GleeClub at the hospital.Dr. Maddox, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Maddox of KansasCity, Kas., is a graduate of the Howard Medical School at Washington, D. C. He finished his interne-ship at General Hospital No. 2 in Kansas City in 1927 and has practiced in Sedalia for the past six years. He is at present city phy j sician and has been reappointed to Ithat office for the past five yearsAdue to his efficient service.Dr. Maddox motored to Kansas City Saturday and will return this evening in company with his bride. The couple will reside temporarily at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Williams, 317 East Johnson street.
