Arrangements for the erection of 4 grandstand to seat 5000 visitors to the Yorktown Sesquicentennial seats for 10,000 additional persona, boxes for distinguished guests, speakers and band stands have just been completed by A. R. Rog ers, director of celebration. The surrounding territory will afford over 100,000 an opportunity to wit neas the elaborate program. In addition to looking after the seating arrangementa, ground is now being laid out for the park ing of thousands of cars,, the pa rade, concession and pageant grounds. The 480 acres leased by the Yorktown Sesquicentennial As sociation are now being cleared by a force of workmen under di rection of Oliver G. Taylor, of the National Park Service, who is also on the grounds in connection with the Colonial National Monument. All underbrush is being cleared away and a large portion of the area is being ‘ploughed, prepara tory to planting grass. seed.
