Gardner Woman Today Observing 100th BirthdayGARDNER, March4 — Mrs, Ideli (Pirtridge) Underwood, a member of one of Gardner's oldest families, is observing her 100th birthday today.A resident of this city since her marriage to the late Dr. George B. Underwood in 1885, she has made her son George A. Underwood at 125 Pearl street since her husband died many years ago.Mrs, Underwood is the oldest living graduate of Hunter College in New York and still enjoys good health. She plays numerous card games without the aid of glasses and maintains interest in lpcal and national affairs.Her memory is keen. She remembers dearly many events that took place in her early years. One oNhe first things ehe recalls is the fun-jeral cortege of Abraham Lincoln •; which passed near her house in New lj York. She also recalls the first in-• [ staflation of electric lights and tele-phones in the Chair City and the early days of the trolley ‘cars.
