50 Attend Dinner Celebrating Fosters' Golden AnniversaryIrMr. and Mrs.Henry Foster celebrated their Golden Wedding day Sunday at the home of theirson and daughter-in-law. Mr. andMrs.. Olin Foster, 6 miles southwest of Moravia.More than fifty relatives, including the children and their families, gathered at noon for a cooperative dinnei*. The day was spent in visiting and taking pictures.In the afternoon open house was held and many friends called to extend congratulations. *Two .cakes, one haked by Mrs, Charles Foster and decorated in white with the words “Golden Anniversary in gold icing. and the other decorated by the granddaughter, Betty Jean Foster, and iced in white with dates in colori of gold and green, were served;? to the friends who called in the afternoon..Both Mr. and Mrs. Foster have spent all their lives.in Appanoose county. The games will begin at 7:30 p. m., in the Moravia high school gymnasium.Young said Exline is donating its services—including transportation -—to the cause, and all expenses in-L.. aV, K..1Foster were married on February 26,1893, at the home of the bride's parents, John and Abigail McCann, four and one-half miles south of Moravia. ■ The Rev. Samuel Cate, a primitive Baptist minister who lived a short distance from the McCanns, performed the ceremony in the presence of close relatives of the bride and bridegroom. Miss Fanny Foster and George Funk-houser stood up with them.The cduple began housekeeping on the farm where they now live;About 18 years ago Mr. Foster was stricken with blindness but an operation performed eight years ago removed the cataract and he is able to see with the aid of glasses. During his years of blindness he was assisted about the farm by a dog, Rin Tin; a German police, that was given the family by a relative in Kansas City.Mr. Foster was 75 years old this February. His parents were James and Delilah Foster and he was bom and raised in the Hiattaville vicinity south of town.Mrs, Foster was 70 years old in December and the couple are able to care for their home and farm chores. They plan to raise a victory garden this year.• They are the parents of five children. Odis Foster died in 1930. The living children are Mrs. John Eaton of Centerville, Mrs. Forrest Mericle of .south of Moravia, Mrs. Claude Wren of Moravia and Olin Foster, who lives a short distance from his parents' home.There are 18 grandchildren and four great grandchildren and three grandsons are in the service. They are Carl Mericle of Ft.
