Wilbert of Itellville, Kansas, will celebrate their golden wedding anniversary on Sunday. March X, at their home in that city. The celebration will be of interest to many older Fort Madison people for the reason that Mr. and Mrs. Wilbert were formerly residents of this city. Mrs. Wilbert was before marriage Miss Caroline Chambers, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Chambers, and is a cousin or Mrs. ('. W. Peters, Mrs. Fannie Alley and Mr. T. C. Chambers of this city. Mr. Wilbert was a soldier in the Civil war. from Wisconsin. At the close of tin* war he came to Fort Madison and married Miss Chambers, they soon leaving here for Winona, Wis., living there several years, going west to Kansas in 1 s74. He is a railroad engineer. They have raised a family of twelve children.In the early days, before the war, Mr. Chambers, with his brother, the late Oscar F. Chambers, assisted in the building of the first great stone wall about the state orison.
