Avon dal©.Ad e vent of very rare occurrence took place at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Mixer* near Avondale, on Wednesday, Feb, 23rd, it being the fiftieth anniversary of theirwedding. After the guests were- allassembled in the parlor and the bride and bridegroom, of fifty years ago came in, [she leaning upon his arm and looking very youthful in her £uit of plum colored siik, and Rev. J. H. Summers in behalf of their children, presented them with two beautiful plush paieut lockers in which they may rest in their declining years. Numerous other valuable gold presents were given by friends and grand-1 children. Rev. Moore then made ; some very appropriate remarks in which he spoke of the high esteem in : which Mr. and Mrs. Mizer are held f by all who know them. After which letters 'of congratulation were read from absent friends iu Iowa, Kansas, Indiana Jand Ohio. Rev. Summers t then lead in prayer. All were then . invited to partake of a repast which it has rarely been our lot to enjoy. To r say the least it was delicious. Almost t every delicacy that could be devised was there in abundance.L The remainder of the day was spent in conversation, music and hav-1 tug a general good lime.
