A few years ago the stock ol the CampbellCounty Turnpike Company sold for fifty cents on the dollar. The same is now netting ten per cent., interest on the pa* value, or twenty per cent, on the amount invested. Notwithstanding these facts the rates of toll remain at .the same figures contemplated by the law overuing turnpike corporations in the State ol Ken-ncky. .which prohibits a dividend exceeding ten percent, on the original capital stock. The officers and directors of lt;his Campbell -County Tumpiko ^Company issue passes ad libitum ta friends and clients, in order to cauie an apparent reduction in the dividends.
