Fiftieth Ann iversaryChariton, Mo , Fbu 18th, 1898. Fifty years ago to-day Perry Kerby, of Putnam county and Mary Pearcy of Schuyler, ran away and were married. Perry Kerby )n a son of David Kerby, one of the first settlers of Putnam county and the bride’s father was an old settler of Schuyler county Perry and Mary Kerby have nine children, three sons and six daughters, the oldest daughter, Millie Kerby Webb lives nearDenver, Colorado, the oldest son, D. H. Kerby, at Seymour, I a , Martha KerbyPorter in Putnam county; the other children all live in Schuyler county, twodaughters,^4xme,-aoii -arenyet singlfSnSnfve at home. The children all metat their father’s home in Schuyler cou^l-wty on Feb. 18th; to celebrate their golden wedding, jit had been twenty-fitfcyears since the family had all met, andit was a great surprise to the parents fosee their children all coming in bringingloaded baskets of provisions and some presents. The daughter from Colorado presented her father with a gold headed cane and the mother with gold spectacles. The other children gave them two upholstered rocking chairs. The presents were taken into the parlor and the father and mother were invited in to see them. D. H. Kerby made the presentation speech. Then they all repaired to the dining room where the table was loaded with good things to eat, such as roasted turkey and goose and other good things too numerous to mention. There was no one presentbut the children and grandchildren, except Mrs. Sawyer, sister of Mrs. Kerby, and her grandson, Marion Sawyer.One Who Wah There.
