Whitelaw Planning Skating, Carling Rinks(By The Gazette* Correspondent)Whitelaw, Feb. 22.—The annual meeting of Whitelaw Community club held in the hall Thursday 21st. The financial statement which was read and adopted showed the club to be in a healthy condition. For the past 2 years | the school board have had the use 1 of the ha 1 free and a motion made to extend this for 1935 was lost. A ren a« fee of $7.0G-a month was et f om January 1st, last.' For the past two winters White-law has had no skating rink altho’ the club has property which was use! lor that purpose. In a dis-cu sio.i which art se on the subject it was agreed to form a committee t arrange for work to be done d.tr.ng the coming summer so that w a e not again left without fa-ci.ities for winter sports. A curling r n* is to be an additional ac ivity of the club which in future will sponsor all sports at Whitelaw. Messrs. J. F. Kyle, G. Tucker and L. N. Fox were named on this committee, while Dave J hnson, Stirling Chisholm and' Mrs. L. N. Fox will be the entertainment committee for the n^xt i hree mon ths. Election of offi :ers resulteJ in C. G. The members are working making up clothing for relief distribution.
