THE BURGESS ANNIVERSARY.From the Cleveland Leader.Ten children, twenty-two grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a host of friends aided Rev. I and Mrs .Oliver Burgess, yesterday in celebrating their sixtieth wedding anniversary.It is seldom that such an occasion£is celebrated at all, but when a concourse of children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren assembleI such as assembled yesterday in honor of the occasion, the event is indeed noteworthy.Rev. Oliver Burgess is nearly eighty-one years old, and Mrs. Burgess seventy-nine. No one, however, unacquainted with the fact oftheir age would suspect for a moment that eight decades had rolledby since they first saw life. No especial ceremony was observed yesterday to celebrate the occasion, the friends of the aged couple being received as they have been for many years back, in the simple manner which is characteristic of the couple. The reception hours were from 10 a. m. till 10 p. m., during which time hundreds of friends called and paid their respects. The rooms of the Burgess home at No. 2680 Euclid avenue were decoratedwith flowers for the occasion andpresented a pretty appearance. During the reception hours a light lunch was served by the host andhostess.Rev. and Mrs. Burgess were married in 1838 at Norwalk, O., where Mrs. Burgess had lived prior to hermarriage. Her maiden name wasCogswell, she being a daughter of Benjamin Cogsweii, a prosperous farmer on the outskirts of thattown. Of the eleven children born to Rev. and Mrs. Burgess, ten areliving. . These are: Mrs. O. L.Hungerford, of Buffalo, N.Y.; Mrs. Clark Rude, of Sandusky, O.; Mrs. C. II. Munscher, of Chicago; Mr. Oliver O. Burgess, of Cleveland; Mr. B. C. Burgess, of Kansas Lity; Mrs. W.
